Ace Hardware Return Policy
Ace Hardware stores offer a wide variety of merchandise for the home, garden, and workshop. We are happy to refund or exchange most merchandise within 30 days of purchase, provided it is in new and unused condition and accompanied by a sales receipt or packing slip.
Certain items have a longer return period and do not require a receipt for certain types of returns. These items are noted on your packing slip or store receipt. If you do not have your packing slip or store receipt, we may be able to locate your purchase in our system and process your return accordingly.
However, in some cases, we may require that you provide additional information or submit the item for inspection before a return can be processed. We reserve the right to decline any return if it does not meet these requirements.
Does Ace Hardware Accept Returns Without a Receipt?
Ace Hardware accepts returns without a receipt for store credit only. All returns must be made within 90 days of purchase and the merchandise must be in new, unused condition with all original packaging and accessories. Returns of power tools, major appliances, special orders, and gift cards are not accepted.
How Long Do You Have to Return an Item to Ace Hardware?
The store return policy is as follows: most new, unopened merchandise sold by Ace Hardware can be returned within 180 days of the purchase date. If you have your original receipt or packing slip, you will receive a full refund in the same form of payment that was used to make the purchase.
If you do not have your original receipt or packing slip, you will receive a store credit for the current selling price of the merchandise.
Does Ace Hardware offer full refunds?
Ace Hardware offers full refunds or exchanges on most merchandise, except the following:
- All sales are final on paint, custom-mixed paints, special orders, propane, gift cards, Stihl power equipment, John Deere power equipment, Weber grills and grill parts, Carhartt clothing, Craftsman tools, and other premium brands.
Merchandise must be in new condition and in its original packaging to receive a refund.
- You must have a sales receipt to receive a refund.
How long do Ace Hardware refunds take?
Depending on your bank or credit card issuer, it may take 3-5 business days for the refund to appear on your statement. Be sure to keep your original receipt as it will be required for all returns and exchanges.
Does Ace Hardware Accept returns through the mail?
At this time, Ace Hardware stores are not accepting returns through the mail. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. All returns must be made in person at your local Ace Hardware store. Please see our return policy for more information.
Can I Return an Item to Ace Hardware Without the Box?
We’re happy to help you with returns and exchanges for most items within 60 days of your purchase. We just ask that you bring your receipt or packaging slip, as well as the credit card you used to make the purchase. For items that were purchased online, you can also print out your order confirmation email.
Can I return an online purchase to the Ace Hardware store?
At this time, we are unable to process returns for online purchases at our Ace Hardware stores. Online purchases can only be returned by mail using our Online Return Form.
