What is Free People’s Return Policy?
We hope you love what you ordered. But in case you don’t—maybe it’s a little too big or the style just isn’t you—we’ll gladly take it back within 30 days, free of charge. All we ask is that you send your items back to us in the same condition in which you received them: unworn, unwashed, unaltered, and with all original tags attached. Returns that do not meet our policy may be denied and/or returned to the sender.
To start your return, head to our Returns Portal. You’ll need your order number and the email address you used to place the order handy. We’ll send you instructions on how to mail your return back to us, as well as a pre-paid shipping label if your return qualifies for one.
If returning by mail, please allow 2-3 weeks from the time you mail your return for it to be processed. If returning in-store, please allow 7-10 days from the time of return for your account to be credited, and 1-2 billing cycles for the refund to appear on your statement.
How Long Do I have to Return an Item to Free People?
You have 30 days from the day your order arrives to return merchandise for store credit or a refund to the original form of payment. Returns received after 30 days will be processed for store credit only. All Free People stores will gladly accept returns of unworn, unwashed, undamaged, or defective merchandise purchased from our website for a full refund within 30 days of the initial shipment date.
The following items are final sale and cannot be returned:
- Gift cards
- Customized items.
To return by mail, please use our Returns Portal to generate a Return Label. A $7 return shipping fee will be deducted from your store credit or refund.
Does Free People Accept Returns Without a Receipt?
At Free People, we want you to love your purchase. If for any reason you don’t, we gladly accept returns of unworn, unwashed, and undamaged merchandise with original tags attached for a full refund within 30 days from the date of delivery. Shipping and handling charges are not refundable.
Does Free People offer full refunds?
Unfortunately, we do not offer full refunds on any of our products. We only provide store credit or exchanges.
Can I return an Item to Free People without the box or original package?
Unfortunately, no. In order for our team to process your return in a timely manner, all items must be returned in their original condition with all tags attached and without any signs of wear. This includes Free People garment bags, hangers, and polybags.
How will I be refunded by Free People?
We accept returns on any unworn, unwashed merchandise with all original tags attached within 30 days of receipt for a full refund to your original form of payment. Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable.
If you choose to return your order to a Free People store instead of using our prepaid return label, we will deduct $5.95 from your refund to cover return shipping costs. Please note that we do not accept returns on final sale items.
How Long do Free People refunds take?
We aim to process returns as quickly as possible, and you will receive an email notification as soon as your return has been processed. Please note that depending on your bank, it can take 3-5 business days for the refund to show in your account.
Can you return an online purchase to the Free People store?
Online purchases can be returned to a Free People store within 60 days of the order date. Returns must be accompanied by a confirmation email or the original packing slip. All items must be in new, unused condition with original tags attached.
Free People reserves the right to deny any return that does not meet these criteria. Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable, and the customer is responsible for return shipping costs.
